|Office Hours:||TTh, 9:00 AM–10:00 AM|
|or by appointment|
The best and fastest way to get in touch with me is by messaging me on Slack, though email is also good. I check and respond to messages at least once per business day, so please be patient during the evenings and on weekends.
Office hours are times each week that professors set aside to meet with students to discuss class topics further, to give advice and help on assignments, and to get to know one another. It is not an imposition to me when you come to office hours; that is what they are for. Office hours are open to all, first-come first-served, no appointment necessary.
If my office hours don't work with your schedule, please contact me to make an appointment to meet at some other time. Be aware that it make take several days to get our schedules to line up, so if you need to meet with me, make the appointment well before when you'll actually need the help you seek.
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, on a mix of grilled cheese sandwiches, frozen pizzas, and Blue Bell ice cream. I spent my youth honing my backyard dodgeball skills, picking up pennies from the bottom of the neighborhood swimming pool, and playing hours and hours of Tetris.
I earned a BA in English from Brigham Young University in 2007, an MA in Creative Writing from Ohio University in 2009, and a PhD in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University in 2017. I am the proud father of three children: Hollie, Charlie, and Robin.
